What is Quotas?
Quotas manage tasks based on priority and daily capacity. By defining how many minutes per day can be committed to different categories of work, the system ensures that high-priority activities receive appropriate attention while preventing lower-priority tasks from overwhelming the schedule. This creates a balanced and predictable workload, supports service level commitments, and helps maintain operational control even during periods of fluctuating demand.
NEW! Introducing Percentage Quotas
Quota allocation can now be configured using percentages of available working time per day. The system calculates quotas using only time that is truly available for scheduling, automatically excluding periods marked as unavailable such as leave, training, or other non-working commitments.
This ensures priority-based allocations remain proportionate and realistic, allowing capacity to flex dynamically while maintaining control over how time is distributed across work categories.
This enhancement improves scheduling outcomes by delivering:
- More accurate capacity planning - allocations reflect actual working time rather than theoretical availability.
- Stronger priority protection - critical work continues to receive its intended share of capacity even when availability changes.
- Improved schedule realism - workloads scale dynamically with real-world constraints.
- Reduced administrative effort - eliminates the need to manually rebalance quotas when availability fluctuates.
- Better service performance - helps maintain service levels by ensuring capacity is distributed intentionally.
- Greater operational transparency - planners can clearly see how time is apportioned and why.
How it works
Quotas can now be defined as percentages of available working time
The system calculates effective quota time using the formula:
(available minutes × percentage) ÷ 100
This functionality is fully configurable and manageable through the User Interface against the Working Hours Calendars, and Resource configuration.

This change puts the planners in the drivers seat, allowing them to define how much of the available working time should be allocated to each work category, using percentages between 0 and 100.
The calculation is fully integrated with the batch optimiser, ensuring scheduling decisions remain efficient and aligned with operational priorities.
- Worker limits now support percentage-based values
- Daily/weekly counter duration types continue to be supported
- Job count limits continue to support a count only.
