Cyclical Servicing Overview
Updated
by Mike Nolan
Purpose
This article will help you understand the functionality that using the Cyclical Servicing module can do for you when managing your Jobs.
What is the Cyclical Servicing Module?
The Cyclical Module allows you to schedule Jobs in allowing for the separation of these jobs with their own unique scheduling parameters.
Servicing work is normally raised in bulk from your back office system and then passed to DRS using the same integration route that you currently use for all of your other work such as responsive and projects.
The module will then automatically batch schedule these Jobs into the DRS diaries out of hours based on the defined criteria that has been configured. Please see below as an example of the Integration process.
System Integration Example

Key Terminology
It's important to understand the Key Terms used when talking about the Cyclical Module.
Term | Description |
Servicing Window | The time window of which the servicing appointments will be scheduled into. This window can cover the whole working day or can be defined to start and end at particular times |
Service Start Method | Can be set as fromToday or fromTargetDate. This will determine when the service days parameter will look ahead from today or look back from the Target Date. |
Service Days | The number of days to look ahead from Today or back from the Target Date to commence scheduling. This allows a window for letters to be sent out if required. |
Service Max Look Ahead Days | The maximum number of days to look ahead from the service days to be scheduled. This enables jobs to be scheduled in that window. |
Servicing Skill | The skill that the servicing module will use when bulk scheduling. |
Percentage Fill | The percentage of the service window you want to be filled with service Jobs. This can be 100% to fill the time window completely or a percentage such as 50% / 75% etc. |
Target Date | The date by when the Job must be completed. |
SOR | The Schedule of Rates that will be used to identify that the Job has a Servicing Requirement. |
