Get to Know Import and Export

Import/Export allows for the importing and exporting of data into an out of the DRS system. Either in xls or csv format.

Exporting information is relatively safe however importing information into the system can cause devastating effects if done incorrectly. When importing any information its best to ensure the data is ready, in the correct format and correct selections are made.

Property Export

The property export tab allows for the exporting of properties within the system.

Selecting the type of export will effect the format of the export provided.

The export can use views in the system to select a subset of data or the columns can be filtered as required, once the desired information has been presented then Export button at the top can be used to export in the desired format.

Order Export

The order export tab allows for the exporting of orders within the system.

This works in the same way as the property export

Appointment Export

The appointment export tab allows for the exporting of appointments within the system.

This works in the same way as the property export

Worker Export

The worker export tab allows for the exporting of workers within the system.

This works in the same way as the property export

Other Export

The other export tab allows for the exporting other information from the system

There are options to Export All information or to specify exactly which data you want to export.

Export All will export the following information:

  • Agencies
  • Appointments
  • Daily Schedule Types
  • Depots
  • Job Template Duration Multipliers
  • Multi SOR Templates
  • Orders
  • Properties
  • SOR Priority Templates
  • SOR Templates
  • Sectors
  • Tenant Code Rules
  • Timetable Calendars
  • Travel Time Modifier
  • Unavailability Calendars
  • Workers

Selecting the Choose which data to export radio button will allow for one of the above to be exported.

Selecting either of the Export headers only radio buttons will export all the header information required but with data omitted (either simplified or not depending on the corresponding radio button)

Once a radio button has been selected either the CSV Export or XLS Export buttons will be able to export the information in the format selected.

A pop up will then appear showing the status of the export. If successful, clicking the Zip button will allow for the file to be downloaded.

Import

The import tab allows for information (which we have seen is able to be exported above) to be imported into the system. As mentioned above this is something that can cause devastating effects to your DRS system and should be used with caution.

Using COMPLETE as the import mode will delete all of the data held against the object type being imported, before importing data. This format is destructive and cannot be undone.
For simple updates, use Incremental, which will update objects that exist and import new objects, mapping with the key values.
