SOR Import & Export

Mike Nolan Updated by Mike Nolan

Purpose

This article will help you understand how to best manage your SORs using the Import & Export tool within DRS. There is an option to be able to import a file to set up the SOR, Multi and Priority Templates in bulk as long as it matches the data structure that is returned on the export.

How do I export the current data?

You will need to export a copy of the data structure that DRS requires for the import as per the navigation below.

DRS > Import / Export > Other Export > Select which data to export

This will export as a ZIP file.  Included in that file will be sorTemplate.csv, extract the file and save it to allow you to be able to edit it.  Save an additional copy as a backup in case you need to revert back to the original for any reason.

The data you add / amend needs to be in the same format as the export.

WARNING: Please ensure all SORs required are present otherwise it will remove any not included in this list.

Save the sorTemplate.csv once edited ready to reimport (do not rename the file at this stage).

How do I import my amended data?

Go back to DRS to the Import / Export section and under the Import section choose the sorTemplate.csv file you had just saved locally and choose ‘Complete’ then select Import.

WARNING: This will remove all SORs and reimport the the list that you have provided.

This will load the SOR templates and once finished it should return a ‘Success’ message and you will then be able to raise jobs using these SOR Codes.

How to I Revert My Changes?

Reverting your changes may be necessary if you are unhappy with the import results. It's important to be ready to do this as SOR's are a key component of the scheduling matrix and if they are not what you need, then your scheduling may be effected.

Reverting your changes can be completed by re-importing the originally exported CSV file. This will re-implement your original configurations.
