Depots
Updated
by Mike Nolan
Purpose
This article will help you understand how to best configure the Depots within DRS. Depots can be used to identify static starting and finishing locations to be used in conjunction with the Working Hours Calendar.
This is then used for calculating travel time instead of the home location postcodes of the operatives on certain days.
Configuring Depots
Depots can be configured and managed using the following menu: DRS > Configuration > Depots

Add a Depot
To create a depot, click the Add button

Within this screen you can populate the following information:
Depot
The following items can be configured:
ID – This is prepopulated with a unique identifier automatically but it can be changed if needed. This is a mandatory field and cannot be left blank
Name – Also a mandatory field and this is the friendly name given to the Depot
Description – A description field for the Depot
Agency - You can select which agency you wish to attach the Depot to.
Use for route departure and arrivals – This is a Yes/No selection which defaults to No. Selecting Yes will ensure that the routes which this Depot is linked to on the Working hours calendars start and end at the depot address rather than the worker home address.
Address
Under the Address heading, the usual address information can be added. The only mandatory field is PostCode, which cannot be left blank. Once entered Ensure that the postcode is validated using the Validate button.
Under the Opening Hours Heading: If the checkbox is selected an opening hours calendar will appear. Checking the relevant days and assigning opening hours will ensure the Depot is only open between those hours on that day. Clicking the Manage breaks button will allow for breaks in between those opening hours to be populated. For example, if the Depot was open from 08:00 – 17:00 but closed from 12:00 – 13:00. By Clicking the + button you can add multiple breaks for that day. Clicking the Save button will apply the breaks to that day in the calendar.
Setting breaks for a Depot will provide scheduling options when using the Depot as a Location for a Job.
