Improved Diary Templates

Andrew Dotto Updated by Andrew Dotto

Diary Templates allow administrators to configure how objects are displayed in the Diary and what information is available to users. With access to key data points and a high level of configurability, Diary Templates enable users to quickly make informed, data-driven decisions. Multiple template configurations allow users to view the information they need in the format that best supports their work.

NEW: Improve Diary Templates

Diary Templates have been redesigned to deliver the same level of configuration flexibility in a modular format. This allows common configuration elements to be reused across multiple templates while only being configured once.

Selecting a configured template shows users the options and display settings that have been applied. Each template can then be built using a set of configurable modules.

Configurable Template Modules

Each component of a Diary Template can be configured individually using familiar configuration techniques. Modules can be reused across one or more templates, helping administrators streamline and standardise configuration across the scheduling solution.

Same Templates, Improved Usage

Diary Templates continue to support the functionality required for fast and accurate scheduling decisions, including:

  • Ability-based worker indicator strips
  • Conditional colouring based on ability values
  • Multiple ability tests per strip
  • Nested conditional colour logic (hierarchical criteria)
  • Four pad types: job, projectPackage, meeting, unavailability
  • Multi-colour configuration: titleColour, leftBarColour, backgroundColour
  • Comparison operators: equal, different, lower, lowerOrEqual, greater, greaterOrEqual, contains
  • Time difference support for date comparisons
  • Sub-criteria for complex nested conditions

With streamlined configuration, administrators can take advantage of the full flexibility of Diary Templates with significantly less effort.
