Using Bookmarks to Drive Efficiency
Updated
by Andrew Dotto
A bookmark is a quick link to a specific object within DRS, such as a Customer, Order, Job or Worker. Bookmarks allow users to easily return to items that require attention or follow-up.
Common reasons for creating bookmarks include tracking a worker who has called in sick and requires their work to be reassigned, marking a customer that needs to be contacted regarding appointments, or saving a job you were reviewing before being interrupted. A comment can also be added to a bookmark to record why it was created.
You can create as many bookmarks as required, but it is recommended to regularly remove any that are no longer needed to keep the list manageable.
Creating a Bookmark
To bookmark an individual or multiple records from a view, tick the required record(s), click the hamburger (3 horizontal lines) in the top left of the horizonal navigation bar, then click Pin.

To bookmark an individual record from the Customer, Order, Job or Worker screen, click the hamburger (3 horizontal lines) in the top left of the horizontal navigation bar, then click Pin.

You can then quickly navigate to that record, e.g. to the Customer, Order, Job or Worker, by clicking the bookmark.
Managing Your Bookmarks
To view and manage your Bookmarks, click the hamburger, then click Manage Bookmarks.

Views
The drop down list allows you to show all bookmarks, or specific categories of bookmarks e.g. Jobs.

Filtering and Sorting
You can sort the bookmarks by clicking on the column header you wish to sort by.
You can also filter the bookmarks via the column header text boxes.

Renaming
Individual bookmarks can be renamed to make them easier to identify.
Tick the bookmark and click the Rename button.

Enter the new name then click Rename.

Marking as Read and Unread
You can flag bookmarks as read (normal text) or unread (bold). This may help identify which bookmarks you still need to action.
To switch between the two options, tick the bookmark(s), then click either Mark as Read or Mark as Unread.

Adding comments
Comments can be added to a bookmark, tick the bookmark then click Comment.

Enter the comment in the text box, then click Update.

Sharing Your Bookmarks with Others
Bookmarks can be sent to other DRS users and will appear in their bookmarks as Unread. If the recipient user is active in the system a notification will display advising them that they have received a bookmark.
Tick the bookmark(s) that you wish to send, then click Send.

Click the plus sign beneath Targets

Tick the User(s) you wish to send the bookmark(s) to, then click select.

If you wish to add a message for the recipient(s), add it to the message text box.
If you wish the bookmark(s) you are sending to remain in your bookmarks when you click Send, set Remove from my bookmarks to No.
Finally click Send.

Deleting Bookmarks
Deleting a bookmark does not affect the object that it links to in any way, i.e. deleting a job bookmark, only deletes the bookmark. It does not delete the job.
To delete a bookmark, tick it then click Delete.
