Managing Your Time and Durations

Andrew Dotto Updated by Andrew Dotto

Time Constraints and Durations determine how long work is expected to take and when it can be scheduled within the diary. Within DRS, these values influence how the scheduling engine places jobs, ensuring appointments fit within worker availability, operational constraints and customer commitments. This article explains how to view and manage time-related information such as job durations, planned times and scheduling windows.

Time Constraints

Time constraints determine the maximum range of slots that can be presented via Show Scheduler.

By default, the From constraint matches the Job’s creation datetime, and the To constraint matches the Order’s target datetime.

However, time Constraints can be edited, this allows you to appoint the Job beyond the Order’s original Target Date, and therefore complete the Job “out of target”, so should be used with caution.

How to see a Job’s Time Constraints

On the Job screen, see the Time Constraints section.

How to edit a Job’s Time Constraints

On the Job screen, click edit, change second datetime within the Time Constraints section, then click save.

Job Duration

Each a job has an expected duration, which is derived from the SMV's held against the parent Order's SORs.

How to see a Job’s Duration

On the Job screen, you'll find the Duration(minutes) within the Worker Request section.

How to edit a Job’s Duration

On the Job screen, click edit, change the Duration(minutes) within the Worker Request section, then click save.

Note: If using quotas, you may also need to change the job's quota values.
WARNING: changing a Job’s Duration will cause it to require rescheduling.
