Current Technical Architecture
Updated
by Andrew Dotto
Purpose
DRS is composed of several internal components as well as popular 3rd party components. The versions available at the latest release of each component is below. Individual release component versions can be found within the release notes.
If you are looking for specific architecture for a version, you can review the associated release notes here: Release Notes
Architecture Provisioning
OneAdvanced do not support or recommend the upgrade of DRS third-party components by customers, such as those within the technology stack. Third-party components provided with DRS are application linked and as such, are upgraded in line with the product lifecycle.
Customers wishing to upgrade a third-party component must submit to an upgrade of DRS. Components are upgraded at major releases, where possible and necessary. As such, staying on or near the latest release for DRS will ensure that the latest tested components are always available to the customer.
Each of these components are normally updated to newer versions every six months and are delivered with a new release of the DRS solution. However, this could be delayed if there are significant changes to the way the technology works and/or has a negative effect on the solution.
Some key points to note are:
- With each DRS major version upgrade OneAdvanced will update the technology stack associated with the customer installation.
- Each DRS major version will be deployed with the technology stack available at the time the DRS release passed through Quality Assurance
- OneAdvanced monitors the technology stack release cadence in line with each new DRS major version release
- OneAdvanced does not routinely update the technology stack of each customer environment in line with the vendor published release cadence, however, in exceptional circumstances where DRS functionality may be impacted Advanced may choose to act and will notify customers accordingly
- OpenSSL is a distinct component of the Apache HTTP server software used to provide the cryptography and secure communication element of the Apache HTTP server. Although distributed within the Apache installation, OpenSSL is managed and maintained by a separate development community to Apache, with its own release and patch cadence. The version of OpenSSL distributed with each Apache release may not be the most up-to-date version available as published on the OpenSSL website. OneAdvanced does not routinely update OpenSSL over and above what has been distributed with Apache
- If the customer requires the technology stack to be updated outside of the OneAdvanced release cadence, the customer should contact their Account Manager to discuss with our Product teams who may elect to include an interim update to the technology stack
- Any application deployed via the DRS\APPS\ folder can be upgraded or removed without risk to application stability. Removing software from this folder may impede the ability for OneAdvanced Support or Consultancy to engage and resolve issues in a timely manner
